I think she was, Valerie. It’s interesting when you interview someone, you never know what they will have to say or what they will be like, but Sarah was truly impressive.
Such a heartbreaking time. Dear souls. Ignorance is a dreadful thing. When support was needed, so little was available. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Heartfelt, sad, moving. Sigh…
Actually, Daisy was not her real name as I changed the names of everyone in the book, but her mother said she liked the name and was thrilled to see her story set out in a book. Good luck to your Daisy.
Watching 'It's a Sin' Russel T Davies' chilling and accurate mini tv series, early in 2021 and looking at attitudes to Covid - a different unknown virus - I relived the 80s (and friends' deaths) and Covid's isolating phobias.
It's strange to think anyone is pleased to see a heart-breaking story, but we often like a good sob story in fiction – and this is more poignant because it is real, At least I think so.
Heartbreaking, but a story worthy of telling. Thank you.
Thank you. I thought so, too. I found Sarah to be so dignified in her grief. Even as I was posting it, I had misted eyes.
She must have been a wonderful mother, given her words and the way her other children reacted.

Thank you for sharing this account, Ann. What a powerful testimony Sarah gave. Heartbreaking.
Thanks, Wendy. I thought she was incredibly moving and wanted others to hear her words.

Thanks, Beth. I will keep sharing interviews from time to time. This one ‘gets me’ every time. And it stays in your head for a long while.
I have a daughter named Daisy so this hits hard. Absolutely heartbreaking 💔 Thanks for telling their story.

This verbatim account is awfully sad.
Yes, Cherry, there have been a lot of deaths in recent years. AIDS was particularly tough because of the stigma attached to it.
Such a heartbreaking story! Thank you for sharing it.

I wouldn’t say I was pleased to see it. Rather that I appreciated you sharing their story so that Daisy and her mother won’t be forgotten.
Much better expressed!
