Wonderful piece Ann. And amazing to recognize those moments that turn out to be life-determining.

Thanks, Patricia. Yes, it call came to me with a flash. From failure to success in one minute's thinking. Wish it was always so easy!

Great article, Ann. Thanks for pointing me to it! It reminds me of a video my sister Felicity sent me when I was stressing over job decisions. It's a professor, Dr. Ellen Langer, stating we can't actually make a comparison between the two paths of any given choice (specifically, where to go to college). We can't compare them or presume to know what life will look like down either path. She says we should therefore randomly choose! And then "make the decision right". It's a concept that makes regret a waste of time, too - even if one path has hardship, we can't be sure the other would have been better. I tried to open the link, but it wanted to send something to my Instagram account and I haven't opened that for years - too much trouble. But thanks for sending.

I'm glad I summarized then! What I wrote is pretty much what she said. or maybe the YouTube link will be better? https://youtube.com/shorts/_bctmXiPsSU?si=oonzw_ML765ld7gP

Reminds me of the film - Sliding Doors - how one small decision can have such an impact.

Thank you. Maybe tomorrow.

This reminds me of a movie, Mr. Nobody, where a child is forced to choose which parent he should live with after they divorce. This choice is impossible to make because so many variables remain unknown. One seemingly simple choice can have a drastic effect on the outcome.

Thank you for inspiring me. I have always wanted to be a Writer, and now that I have this little opportunity, I seem to be too busy to write. I must write if I am to become a Writer. But perhaps it's too late. And perhaps it's not. (I'm a Granny who used to stand on her head, but now I'm trying to learn

Tai Chi. Wish me luck!

Thanks so much. I'm pleased to inspire anyone to write, but I'm not sure what I did to inspire you. Just being old and still writing? Do write if you feel like it. I would certainly encourage you to give it a go. It's never too late! My one proviso is to say that if you want to write for other people (and it is perfectly reasonable to write solely for yourself), then do think what it is you want to say. Some people write for the sake of writing and it isn't very interesting. Good luck with writing and with Tai Chi.

Sorry about that gap.
