I so enjoyed reading your article about appreciating art. So often I had strolled through art galleries not really knowing what to look for in those treasured and preserved works of art. It wasn’t until at the age of 49 I took myself to get my BA and had the courage to take an art history course. I felt like a whole new world had opened up for me. Today I can somewhat appreciate art just a little more. I am so grateful for the experiences.
Interesting stuff. I (we) are off to Florence in October and I shall look out for those you have mentioned. I have a fascination of sorts but have always said that I don’t truly appreciate art. My father in law always corrects me and says that I probably do, but don’t quite know how to express it.
