Celebrating 1000 subscribers

It is with enormous pleasure and no little humility that I let you all know that I reached 1000 subscribers somewhere at the end of October, now nearly 1100. As someone who thought at the outset that it would be amazing to find 100 strangers who chose to subscribe to my writing, I am hugely delighted.

As you may know, I decided from the outset that I wanted all income from this newsletter to go to a special charity, Shelter from the Storm. This organisation works to improve the current circumstances and future lives of homeless people in London. It spends very little on fundraising or administration. My son volunteers there once a week.

I will say very openly that you will have access to all my posts and all my archives whatever you decide to do. I don’t like paywalls.

BUT it is a chance to feel good in this season of giving and to know that you are helping a small but very hard-working and thoughtful charity – at a bargain price!

In the meantime, please, please believe me when I say how very privileged I feel to have you as a reader of my posts, whether regularly or from time to time, whether paying or not. With more and more people choosing to write here, this feeling has become even more intense, as I am so aware of the competing demands on your time.
